DAY 3 - JULY 5 - OPEN COMPETITION PERFORMANCES

Today was a BIG DAY for Atlanta Young Singers’ Youth Chorale!!  The day began with early 7:50 mic check before our qualifying round at Cincinnati’s School for Creative & Performing Arts.  The Young Women’s Choir (YWC) sang incredibly in their presentation at 10:15. So well, in fact, that the World Choir Games judges gave them fantastic feedback and LOTS of compliments!

After some R&R at the Millennium Hotel, YWC sang a great performance at 5:30 for the Youth Choirs Equal-Voices Open Competition.  There were several AYS fans in the very appreciative, enthusiastic audience. It was WONDERFUL to see some AYS families!!

After a great performance, Youth Chorale quickly transferred to the huge Aronoff Center for the Arts to participate in the Folklore Open Competition. Our young men and 7 of our young women performed a wonderful set at 9PM, with our supportive YWC joining another highly appreciative audience. We heard wonderful groups, in particular, a really talented quartet from Iran equipped with Iranian beatboxing!

With this huge day of performances over, we are ready for fun and loads of WCG experiences, including workshops, exchanges with other choirs, and witnessing other competition performances. We are SO proud of our Singers, who have represented their Choir, families, state, and country so well!
